PURPOSE:To reduce exercising of an adverse influence on a substance to be cooked by unevenness in heating, by a method wherein an inner plate member, having selfpurifying processing function, on which coating is applied, is mounted on a cooking chamber wall with a gap therebetween, and vent holes through which to intercommunicate the gap with the interior of the cooking chamber are bored. CONSTITUTION:An inner plate member 18 is formed approximately in a U-shape by an aluminum-treated plate. A mixture of phosphate series inorganic heat resistant paint and a thermal decomposition catalyst is coated on an inner surface part 20 with which to form a cooking chamber 11 to provide self-purifying processing function. Vent holes 25 are formed in the inner plate member 18, and a gap between the inner plate member 18 and an inner casing 13 is communicated to the interior of the cooking chamber 11. High temperature air in the cooking chamber 11 heated by a heater 12 enters the gap between the inner plate member 18 and the inner casing 13 through the vent holes 25 to promote an increase in the temperature of the inner casing 13. Thereby, the casing 13 and the inner plate member 18 are rapidly heated to a saturation temperature as compared with a case where there is no vent hole. This constitution reduces exercising of an adverse influence on a substance to be cooked by unevenness in heating due to the absorption of heat energy of the heater 12 by the inner plate member 18.
