<p>Installation for the introduction of powder or liquid additions into metal melts consists of a melt holding chamber into which the melt is poured. This is fitted with a slag separator and a vortex discharge pipe into a ladle. The discharge pipe comprises a vertical channel which is fitted with three symmetrically disposed openings pointing downwards at an angle alpha and branching into the main channel, which widens at the junctions permitting a radial branching in of the openings. A casting ladle is placed below the pipe to receive the melt with the mixed-in additions. The above plant ensures a greatly improved mixing-in action for the additions which are being made.</p> |
