A window construction comprises a wooden frame consisting of upper and lower horizontal parts (21y, 21a), vertical lateral parts (21r), and vertical intermediate parts (21p), placed between the said horizontal parts, and an optional solid part (30), placed between the vertical intermediate frame parts (21p), the solid part consisting of a wall construction (31-34) with thermal insulation. The circumferential outer faces of the window are lined with a profile (40, 41, 43) of metal or equivalent material, protecting the construction against the weather. The vertical intermediate frames (21p) and/or vertical intermediate frames (21p) and solid part (30) between them are, from outside, covered by a lining glass pane, (10A, 10B), which is attached by means of fastening profiles (12) to the outer face of the vertical intermediate frame (21p) and/or to the outer wall (34) of the solid part (30). The areas in the vicinity of both of the vertical edges of the lining glass pane (10A, 10B) extend onto the frame profiles (26) of the outside window panes so that a small vertical air gap (R) remains between the latter parts (10A, 10B; 26), which said air gap opens into the air space (V) remaining underneath the said lining glass pane (10A, 10B), which is protected from weather. <IMAGE> |
