PURPOSE:To perform accurate direction detection immediately after a main power switch is turned on by performing the direction detection by an earth magnetism sensor until the completion of the start-up of a gas rate sensor. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 3 computes the position of a moving body on two-dimensional coordinates at intervals of unit run distance according to detection signals from a distance detector 1 and a direction detector 2. The direction detector 2 uses the gas rate sensor with a temperature control function. The earth magnetism sensor 9 performs the direction detection until the completion of the start-up of the gas rate sensor. The current position of the moving body found by the CPU 3 is stored in a RAM 4 and then displayed on a display device 7 together with map information from a storage medium reproducing circuit 6. |
