PURPOSE:To prevent mixing of liquids while keeping heat exchanging performance even if holes are pierced on the heat exchanger wall by a method wherein a beat exchanging element is composed of a pair of beat exchanging plate in contact with each other with a gap therebetween which is opened outside and not so tight as watertight, and the heat exchanging parts are partially soldered each other. CONSTITUTION:Heat medium flows into a passage A from an inlet 18 and flows out through an outlet 20. Liquid to be treated flows into passages B from an inlet 22 and flows out from an outlet 24 for the liquid to be treated. While each liquid passes through adjacent passages A, B, the liquid to be treated receives heat from the heat medium through heat exchanging elements P, P' end its temp. is raised. At that time, as heat exchanging plates 12, 14 composing the element P, P' are not stuck each other, and the heat transfer rate is inferior to that of a single plate, however, when the element is compared with an element composed of double patition plates where a perfect air layer exists, the former is far superior to the latter, and as there are soldered parts 32, a specified heat exchanging performance can be easily secured.
