PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of an extreme hue change by selecting either of primary and secondary correction calculation results based on the result of secondary correction calculation. CONSTITUTION:A ROM 13 outputs selectively the result of the secondary correction calculation as a correction data when the result of the secondary correction calculation result is within a boundary range, and when the result of secondary correction exceeds the range of a boundary line, the exceeded boundary is outputted selectively as the correction data. In setting the boundary range around the result of the primary correction calculation, if the secondary correction calculation exceeds the boundary range, it is the case that a color signal is inputted while the color reproduction by color ink is disabled. In this case, extreme hue change is prevented by using the boundary value. Thus, correction is applied over the entire color reproduction range around the secondary correction calculation with high accuracy.
