In the case of a position measurement transmitter (10) which is based on the principle of magnetic induction coupling, the conductor tracks (17) of the rotor (11) have no connections. The conductor tracks (17) are constructed in a meandering shape and are short-circuited. However, they can also be applied to the rotor (11) as flat, electrically insulated conductor tracks (28), in the form of sectors. The rotor (11) can thus move in an unlimited manner. Measurements are made only on the conductor tracks (16) of the stator (12). The position measurement transmitter (10) is thus of simple construction and has a high measurement accuracy. Interference influences can be eliminated and the rotation direction can be detected by means of a special construction of the transmitter and receiver conductor tracks on the stator (12). <IMAGE>
