<p>PURPOSE:To prevent an unfixed toner image from being destructed due to the contact of the rear end of paper with a heating roll by properly receding a carrying and guiding plate for guiding paper inserted into a nip of a fixing device after inserting it into the nip. CONSTITUTION:When paper 6 whose transferred toner image is not fixed yet is carried to a fixing device 11, the carrying and guiding plate 14 guides the paper 6 to the nip 4 on an upper guide position indicated by a solid line. A working member 13 is rotated by the action of a solenoid 15 and the guiding plate 14 is receded to a receding position 14. Even if the rear end of the paper is waved near the nip 4 on the position, the movement is not interrupted by the guiding plate 14, so that a problem destructing a toner image due to the contact of the rear end of the paper with the heating roll 1 can be eliminated and fixing can be attained.</p> |
