PURPOSE:To save the memory capacity by assigning unequally the arrangement of data bits of 3 color components constituting a 1st picture data in response to the contribution required to constitute each 3-color component of a 2nd color correction picture data so as to save color information bits of the 1st picture data with a low contribution rate. CONSTITUTION:As the address inputs to storage means 101-103 generating sets C2, M2, Y2 of the color correction signal of the 2nd order from the sets of C1, M1, Y1 of the three color signals of cyan, magenta and yellow constituting the 1st picture data, the C1, M1, Y1 bits arrangement are applied the C1 for the C2, the M1 for the M2 and the Y1 for the Y2 to maximize the bit quantity. That is, the data bits of the 3 color component constituting the 1st picture data are arranged unequally in response to the contribution constituting each three color component of the 2nd order color correction picture data thereby saving the color information bit of the 1st order picture data with low contribution rate. Thus, the number of combinations of memory reference is remarkably reduced and the memory capacity is saved.
