PURPOSE:To correct an angular error due to the eccentricity of a connecting gear, by method wherein two gears are meshed with the connecting gear provided to a rotary shaft at 180 deg. opposed positions and the signals of the resolvers driven by the respective gears are superposed or averaged. CONSTITUTION:Large and small connecting gears 9, 10 are mounted to a rotary shaft so as to be integrally rotated. A gear 11 of a gear ratio of 1:1 is meshed with a gear 10 and gears 12, 13 of a gear ratio of n:1 are meshed with the gear 9 at 180 deg. opposed positions. The gears 11-13 are respectively constituted so as to driven resolvers and each of the resolvers outputs the analogue signal proportional to the sine and cosine of the angle of as resolver shaft from each orthogonal winding. By this method, the angle data of the gears 9, 10 are calculated. At this time, even when the center P of rotation of each of the gear 9, 10 is eccentric to the center Q of rotation of the rotary shaft, by connecting the resolvers driven by the gear 12, 13 in series to superpose the output signals of said resolvers, the angular shift of the gears 12, 13 is set off and, as a result, the real angle of rotation of the rotary shaft, wherein an error due to eccentricity is removed, can be obtained.
