A radio-opaque substance such as finely divided isanium sulphate is mixed uniformily into the plastic before plasticizing and extending or moulding thus is left in a patient after surgery the item could be traced by X-ray. Pref. at least one surface-active substance is added to the mixture before plasticizing to aid the dispersion of the radio-opaque substance.
