<p>A master or slave cylinder for a vehicle brake actuating system has a pressure cylinder (1), which may be of plastics material, and a separate flange component (6) which extends longitudinally around the cylinder and has portions turned over an open end of the cylinder to retain the component on the cylinder and to provide a backstop for a piston actuating rod 3. Portions of the flange component extend laterally to provide oppositely extending flanges (13, 14) serving to secure the cylinder to a support by the passage of fastening means through flange apertures (15, 16).</p> |
