PURPOSE:To apply optionally a difference in distribution of data transfer capacity of respective I/O channels by providing a data processor with a channel controller and a connection setting means for variably setting the frequency and time of time division connection. CONSTITUTION:The data processor including a CPU or the like connected to the channel controller 4 on a time-division basis and plural I/O channels 5a-5h for transferring data is provided with the connection setting means 20 for variably setting the frequency and time of time-division connection between the channel controller 4 and respective I/O channels 5a-5h. Consequently, the channel controller can specify the time series of I/O channels to be selected at each time at the time of initialization and the distribution of data transfer capacity in respective I/O channels can be changed without changing all of hardware.
