PURPOSE:To reduce the positional deviation due to the temperature of a magnetic head by detecting the temperature of a disk device just before rotation of a recording medium to control a timer circuit which controls transmission of a ready signal. CONSTITUTION:The temperature of a head assembly 40 is detected by a temperature detector 41 and is supplied to a timer circuit 60 through an A/D converting circuit 50. The timer time corresponding to the temperature is set to the circuit 60, and the circuit 60 does not generate the time-up output until the set time elapses after a disk 42 starts turning by turning-on of a start switch 14. Consequently, the time when the ready signal of a signal for positioning to cylinder 0 which is outputted through a gate 70 opened by the time-up output is transmitted from a positioning control circuit 10 to a higher device is changed in accordance with the temperature to considerably reduce the occurrence of positional deviation due to the temperature of the magnetic head.
