PURPOSE:To obtain a computer input device with excellent maneuvarability by correspondingly registering a visual information area specified by an area specifying means and a key code received by a receiving means and extracting the corresponding key code based upon the area specification from a registering means to transmit it. CONSTITUTION:At the time of registering a key code, the area of an optional visual information is specified in a visual information sheet set up on a pad part 4 and a key code is inputted by a keyboard 2. The key code is received by a receiving means 16 and the key code and the visual information area are correspondingly registered in the registering means 18. At the time of transmission, the area of required visual information is specified on the visual information sheet by the pad part 4. Consequently, the key code corresponding to the specified area is extracted from the registering means and transmitted to a computer body 3 through a transmitting means 17. Consequently, the computer input device can be used for all software and the easiness and simplicity of operation can be improved.
