PURPOSE:To improve resolution and to obtain a color image with high quality in a color image forming device for visualizing a latent image on an image carrier by a developing device in each selected color and successively and superposedly transferring the visualized images by using developers successively from a developer with small average grains to a developer with large average grains to develop images. CONSTITUTION:Image forming parts Pa-Pd are arranged in a device body 10 and a laser beam to be a picture element image signal of a black component image is projected from an upper laser beam scanner 16a to scan and expose a photosensitive drum 1a on a position between the charger 15a and a developing device 3a in the bus direction. Similarly, photosensitive drums 1b-1d are exposed by picture element signals corresponding to Magenta, cyanine and yellow color component images and rotated by a signal from a sensor 52. Thus, images are successively formed on transfer paper 6 carried by a carry belt 8 in an arrow direction. At that time, the average grain size of a developer in a black developing device requiring high resolution is set up to a value smaller than the average grain size of other developers. Thus, required resolution can be inexpensively obtained by successively visualizing the latent image from a developer with small grain size to a developer with large grain size. |
