PURPOSE:To reduce the deterioration in performance of a control part at the time of copying operation and to simplify the constitution of the control part by reading out data stored in an existing storage part and writing the data in a preparatory storage part when the preparatory storage device is incorporated during the operation of only the existing storage part. CONSTITUTION:When the preparatory storage part 4 is additionally incorporated a system during the operation of only the existing storage part 3, a copy instruction part 5 reports the incorporation of the storage part 4 to a control part 2, outputs a reading instruction and a writing instruction respectively in the storage parts 3, 4 to transfer data stored in the storage part 3 to the storage device 4, and after transferring all the data to the storage part 4, informs the copy end to the control part 2. The control part 2 does not execute an instruction obtained from a CPU, and after receiving the report indicating the copy end from a copy instruction part 5, selects both the storage parts 3, 4 simultaneously for the instruction from the CPU to allow both the storage parts 3, 4 to execute the same operation. Consequently, the constitution of the control part can be simplified.
