<p>NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I. USE:A monomer for heat-resistant high polymers, particularly stock materials, e.g. polyamide, polyimide and polyaminobismaleimide resins, etc., having excellent processability and heat-resistant adhesive property in addition to improved heat resistance. PREPARATION:3-(4-Nitrophenoxy)benzyl chloride is reacted with diphenyl ether in the presence of a Lewis acid catalyst, e.g. anhydrous aluminum chloride, preferably in a solvent, e.g. 1,2-dichloroethane, at 0-200 deg.C to afford a dinitro compound expressed by formula II, which is then catalytically reduced by using a metallic catalyst, e.g. Ni, etc., to provide the compound expressed by formula I.</p> |
