<p>The invention provides a compound of the general formula: <CHEM> wherein R1 is CH2OH or CHO, R2 and R5 are CH or C, R3 and R4 are CH2 or CH, R6 is CH3 or CH2, with the proviso that R1 is not CHO when R3 is CH and R2 is C, R5 is C, and R6 is CH2. Preferably R1 is CHO, R3 is CH and R2 is C, or R4 is CH and R5 is C. Also, R1 can be CH2OH. The invention also provides a perfume or flavouring mixture, in which an effective amount of the above-identified compound is present. Furthermore, the invention provides a process for preparing a compound as described above.</p> |
