PURPOSE:To improve the durability of a repairing art in a furnace bottom by taking out the tuyere for gas blowing at the furnace bottom to insert a plugging tuyere, charging basic refractory adjusting grain size in the remaining slag after blowing the molten iron and tapping off and solidifying at the worn part. CONSTITUTION:The tuyere for gas blowing in the top-bottom blowing converter is taken out from the bottom and the plugging tuyere is inserted, for use as LD converter. The blowing is executed by using the molten iron having <=0.05% phosphorus composition, to form the slag having <=15% T.Fe in the slag. After tapping off, the slag, which the worn part of furnace bottom is sufficiently filled up, is allowed to remain in excess. To 100pts.wt. of remaining slag. <=(5-40)pts.wt. of the basic refractory adjusting 50-200mm grain size are charged, to reform the slag. This reformed slag is settled down at the worn part around the tuyere of furnace bottom for a suitable time to allow sticking. Next, the plugging tuyere is removed, and by inserting the new tuyere for gas blowing the top-bottom blowing converter operation is restored.
