PURPOSE:To efficiently correct an uneven illuminance by providing a storage means storing the uneven illuminance which depends on a light source, and a correcting means multiplying read original information by an uneven illuminance data obtained from the storage means, by a picture element unit. CONSTITUTION:A microfilm is removed from an optical path, and count numbers M, S of main scan and sub-scan counters 23, 24 are increased one by one in accordance with a synchronizing signal. Subsequently, the uneven illuminance data of a light source which is read by a CCD array 7 is stored in correcting RAMs 27, 28. Next, a film is set in the optical path, and while increasing the count numbers M, S of the counters 23, 24, original information read by the array 7 is inputted to a correcting ROM 31. Simultaneously, the data of the RAMs 27, 28 are also inputted to the ROM 31. The ROM 31 outputs a corrected data multiplying the original information by the uneven illuminance data, based on the input data. In such a way, the uneven illuminance can be corrected efficiently.
