PURPOSE:To securely remove a foreign matter on a magnetic disk by spraying compressed gas at an oblique angle to the magnetic disk surface, and sucking dust, dirt and the like which have been blown by injection pressure into a suction port faced and disposed. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is constituted in such a way that compressed gas is sprayed at an oblique angle to the rotating magnetic disk surface like a spot by a nozzle 35, and dust, dirt and grains on the magnetic disk surface are released by the injection pressure of compressed gas, the sucked into the suction port 37 after releasing, and are exhausted from a suction duct 36. Dust, dirt and grains are not pressed or rubbed against the magnetic disk surface like rubbing the magnetic disk surface with a cloth and the like for cleaning, but they are released obliquely by the injection pressure of compressed gas. Thus, dust, dirt and grains which are strongly stuck to the magnetic disk surface can securely be removed.
