PURPOSE:To suppress an output voltage rise at the time of transferring a load by controlling the peak value of a current flowing to a switching transistor in response to an output voltage. CONSTITUTION:The voltage of an AC power source 9 is rectified and smoothed by a full-wave rectifier 10 and a capacitor 1, and applied to a transformer 5. A switching pulse signal is supplied from an oscillator 2 having a fixed oscillation frequency and fixed duty of a pulse width to the base of a switching transistor (Tr) 4, and the smoothed voltage is turned ON, OFF through the transformer 5. The secondary output voltage of the transformer 5 is rectified by a rectifying diode 6, smoothed by a capacitor 7, and output. This voltage is further detected by a voltage detector 8, and fed to a current peak value varying circuit 3. This circuit 3 controls to vary the peak value of the current flowing to the Tr 4 so as to maintain the smoothed output voltage constant.
