摘要 |
PURPOSE:To increase charging capability and to retard a drop in high rate discharge performance by forming a lead-antimony-tin alloy layer on the surface of a grid comprising a lead-calcium based alloy. CONSTITUTION:A lead-antimony-tin alloy foil is pressed against a lead calcium based alloy sheet, and the rolled sheet obtained is expanded to form a grid. The difficulty in charging of a battery left for a ling time after overdischarge is improved by adding a large amount of tin to the grid. However, a drop in the adhesion between the grid and active material is rapidly advanced and discharge capacity is remarkably decreased. By forming the lead-antimony-tin alloy layer on the surface of the grid, a battery is charged to reach a sufficient capacity, and the life of the battery which is left after overdischarge is increased. |
