PURPOSE:To obtain the same resolution with a microdevice by fitting a screw lid and an entrance/exit passage for gas to a cylindrical sample container with hollow structure and recording automatically the temperature difference between the external wall temperature of the center part of said container and the temperature of the center part of a sample in the container. CONSTITUTION:The screw lid is fitted to the sample container 5 of a balance device to constitute an enclosed structure. A gas entrance connector 7 and a gas exit connector 8 are provided to the top part and bottom part of this container and flow gas is sent in the container through a sealing liquid mechanism 9 which is freely movably in the gas entrance pipe 12; and the gas pass through the gas exit connector 8 and separated into liquid and a tar material in a fixed separated liquid reservoir container and gas is discharged from the system through a discharge pipe 13. When differential heat is measured, a thermometer T1 is fitted to a balance sample container support rod 15 or suspension rod 17 and a thermometer T2 is fitted detachably on the wall of the container to the center part of the sample; and the temperature difference between the T1 and T2 is denoted as DELTAT and DTA is measured. Consequently, the same peak temperature with a convensional microdevice is obtained.
