PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent fixed image by utilizing heat by setting a specific time to the cumulative time of the time when a power source is on and inhibiting an air cooling means from operating for a predetermined time after the power source is turned on when the power source is off for longer than the constant time. CONSTITUTION:A heat discharging fan 530 is arranged as the air cooling means outside the flank of a casing and connected to a control circuit 532 through a driving circuit 531. A detecting circuit 533 which detects whether or not the power source of the device is on is connected to the control circuit 532 and detects the power source being turned on to inhibit the heat discharging fan 530 from operating for the specific time after the power source is turned on for a 1st time and the specific time is calculated as the cumulative time of the time when the power source is on. When the power source is off for the constant time after the specific time later, the control circuit 532 detects the power source being turned on again by the detecting circuit 533 and inhibits the heat discharging fan 530 from operating for a predetermined time after the power source is turned on again. Consequently, thermal deterioration and damage are precluded and an excellent fixed image is obtained at all times by utilizing heat.
