PURPOSE:To prevent damages of rolled stocks and a roll surface by making a leveler roll possible to reciprocate in the up and down directions and by providing a driving device to rotate the leveler roll at the equal peripheral speed with the feeding speed of the rolled stocks. CONSTITUTION:Cylinders to transfer one or both of a lower frame 14 or an upper frame 15 to the opposite side of the rolling stocks 1. At the time of leveling the rolled stocks 1, clutches 36 of reduction gears 33, 48 are cut to level the rolled stocks 1 between rolls 2 and 3 and when the connecting part of the rolled stocks is passing through, the cylinder is actuated to detach the rolls 2, 3 from the rolling stocks 1 to connect the clutches 36. In this case, at the time when the peripheral speed of the rolls 2, 3 is coincident with the feed speed of the rolling stocks 1, the cylinder is operated again to start the leveling of the rolled stocks 1. Because the rolled stocks 1 is brought into contact with the rolls 2, 3 at the equal speed, so that damages of the rolling stocks 1 and the rolls 2, 3 are prevented.
