PURPOSE:To obtain high cooling effect by little quantity of using liquid coolant by injecting the liquid coolant in the cooling hole of block mold from a nozzle in a header for cooling shifting synchronously with the block mold for shifting mold. CONSTITUTION:The shifting mold composing of endlessly continuing plural block molds 1 is driven toward same direction by arranging to the upper side and lower side and the molten metal is supplied into the casting space formed between the upper and lower shifting molds, to execute the casting. In the above shifting mold type continuous casting machine. The block molds 1 are cooled by pouring the liquid coolant in the cooling hole (not shown in figure) arranged at the width direction. The header 4 for cooling having the specific length is arranged as paralleling to the cooling holes and the liquid coolant is injected in the cooling hole through nozzles 5 arranged at the same interval as the cooling holes.
