PURPOSE:To prevent uneven development by incorporating a specified polymer in the outermost layer of a silver halide photographic sensitive material on the emulsion layer side in a specified weight % of the binder of the outermost layer, and processing the photosensitive material in a developing time of >=15sec. CONSTITUTION:The outermost layer of the silver halide photographic sensitive material contains the polymer represented by the formula shown on the right in an amount of 4-300wt% of the binder in the outermost layer and the photosensitive material is processed in a developing time of <=15sec. In the formula, X is a unit derived from acrylamide monomer; Y is a unit derived from a monomer copolymerizable with said X; x is 70-100mol%; and y is 30-0mol%. Said polymer has an average molecular weight of 2,000-500,000, the monomer of X is embodied by acrylamide, methacrylamide, and the like, and that of Y is, preferably, vinyl alcohol, acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, and the like, thus permitting the processing time to be reduced, moreover, the operation for preparing the processing solution and its maintenance to be facilitated at the same time, and uneven development to be prevented. |
