PURPOSE:To simplify a production process, by partially providing a releasable ink film layer at parts of a thermal transfer material at which a vapor-deposited metallic film layer is not required, depositing the vapor-deposited metallic film layer, then releasing the releasable ink film layer, and partially depositing a heat-sensitive adhesive layer. CONSTITUTION:A fatty acid and an acrylic resin are sequentially applied to one side of a polyethylene terephthalate film base 1 to provide a releasable layer 2. Next, a pattern is printed to provide a colored ink layer 3, followed by providing a releasable ink film layer by screen printing at parts at which a vapor-deposited metallic film layer is not required. The vapor-deposited metallic film layer 5 is provided on the entire surface by vacuum deposition, and the releasable ink film layer is released. Then, a heat-sensitive adhesive is applied only to required parts to provide a heat-sensitive adhesive layer 6, thereby completing a thermal transfer material. The colored ink layer 3 may be provided by printing after the metallic film layer 5 is provided. Thus, the releasable ink film can be released in a dried state, and the thermal transfer material can be inexpensively mass-produced by a simple process. |
