PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body high in sensitivity and stable in potential characteristics against repeated uses by forming a photosensitive layer containing a specified azo pigment. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic organic sensitive body is provided on a conductive substrate with the photosensitive layer containing the azo pigment combined with an optionally substituted aromatic hydrocarbon or hetero ring substituted, optionally through a bonding group, by the organic residue represented by the formula shown on the right in which each of R1 and R2 is H atom, or an alkyl, aralkyl, aryl, or heterocyclic group each optionally substituted, or each may form a cyclic amino group together with each other and their adjacent N atom, thus permitting either of carrier generating efficiency or carrier transfer efficiency or both to be improved in the photosensitive layer containing said azo pigment, and sensitivity and potential stability during long repeated uses to be enhanced. |
