PURPOSE:To print out a character using various kinds of styles of a type simply by providing a character generator with plural optional read-only memories (ROMs) and setting up a specifying command before a printing data. CONSTITUTION:The optional read-only memories ROM9-ROM11 are connected as the character generator in addition to an ROM8. The printing data are received by any one of a serial interface 2 or a parallel interface 3. A CPU1 arranges the data to be printed out by using the ROM8-ROM11 and an RAM12 on the basis of a program in an ROM7 and outputs the result to an I/O port 16 to drive a carriage motor 14 and prints out the data by a head 13. The style of print is set up by the contents of the ROM8-ROM11 to be used as the character generator. The optional read-only memories are operated by an expansion alteration switch 5. |
