PURPOSE:To prevent damage to multislit strips and to simplify the device by dividing a winding drum into plural segments in the axial direction, forming wavy secondary curved faces on the inner surface of the segmented winding drums, and installing plural plungers on a rotation drive shaft in radial directions. CONSTITUTION:A winding drum is divided, in the axial direction, into plural segmented winding drums 4, which are composed of cylindrical bodies and expanding and contracting pieces 6 respectively. Wavy secondary curved faces being continuous in the circular direction are formed on the inner surface of the cylindrical bodies and plural plungers 18 are installed on a rotation drive shaft 3 to push the inner faces of every segmented drum 4 by hydraulic pressure. At the time winding a slit strip 2a onto the drums 4 by driving the shaft 3, if one of the drums 4 remarkably becomes larger by excessive winding, that drum 4 slips to reduce its winding speed and a pressure of the plungers 18 for other drums 4 is controlled to uniformize winding tensions of all the drums 4. Thus, damage to the multislit strips is eliminated and the device is simplified.
