PURPOSE:To intuitively discriminate relations between tables by tracing related tables along pointers by the recursive processing and two-dimensionally displaying cross reference relations between tables based on pointers. CONSTITUTION:When one of tables having many two-branch three structures which are stored in a main storage device is designated, recursive procedures are called by a recursive procedure calling means 105, and each element is read from the table by a reading means 101. Each read element is discriminated by a discriminating means 102, and the element is displayed by a display means 106 if it is a terminal element. If it is not a terminal element, cross reference relations between tables of this element are traced by a pointer tracing means 104 after the display position of this element is determined by a positioning means 103. Hereafter, these procedures are recursively called by the means 105 to trace following elements to display relations between tables.
