PURPOSE:To produce a 2-dimensional pattern containing dimensions by dividing this pattern into plural areas for production of the dimension description data based on the coordinate value data extracted out of the 2-dimensional pattern information. CONSTITUTION:A pattern dividing means 11 extracts the coordinate value data on a 2-dimensional pattern out of the input 2-dimensional pattern information and divides a 2-dimensional pattern into plural areas including approximately equal number of coordinate points. A dimension description data production means 12 produces the dimension description data on each internal necessary coordinate point for each of divided pattern area. A pattern production means 13 produces a 2-dimensional pattern containing its dimensions. In such a way, the overlap degree between the draw-out lines and the pattern can be extremely decreased and the original pattern dimensions can be written regardless of magnification or reduction of the pattern. Thus a 2-dimensional pattern containing its dimensions can be obtained with high efficiency.
