PURPOSE:To give stabilized frictional force to a wire as well as to obtain the title device with which its size can be adjusted easily by a method wherein the wire is slidingly moved while it is being pressed to a retaining means by blowing compressed air against the travelling wire. CONSTITUTION:The title wire guiding device is provided with a jetting means 8 with which compressed air 5 is jetted out to a travelling wire 2 in the direction 6 almost at right angle with the travelling direction 7 of a wire 2, and a retaining means 4, provided opposing to the above-mentioned jetting means 8, having a slidingly moving guide part with which frictional force is given by supporting the wire 2 which is pressurized by the above-mentioned compressed air 5 on a non-plane surface and by slidingly moving the wire 2, are provided. For example, a pair of guide pins 3 and 3 with which the shifting of the wire 2 in the direction orthogonally intersecting with the advancing direction of the wire 2 which is pulled out from a spool is controlled, a supporting stand 4 with which the wire 2 is passed through between the guide pins 3 and 3 is supported, and a nozzle 8 which presses the wire 2, led out in the direction of the arrow 7 by the compressed air 5 jetted out in the direction shown by the arrow 6, to the supporting stand 4, are provided. A recessed part 9 having a circular arcshaped cross section of gentle slope is formed on the upper surface of the supporting stand 4.
