发明名称 MODULATION-CAPABLE CARBON DIOXIDE GAS LASER
摘要 PURPOSE:To increase the on-off speed of a carbon dioxide gas laser by a method wherein a means is provided whereby an optical path in a resonator is condensed into a very small spot and an optical shield and a mechanism capable of putting in and out the optical shield with rapidity are provided at the point of condensation. CONSTITUTION:In a carbon dioxide laser constituted of a discharge tube 1 and a pair of resonance mirrors 2 and 3, a means is provided whereby an optical path 11, 11' in the resonator is condensed into a very small spot and, at the point of concentration, an optical shield 5 and an actuator 6, capable of rapidly putting in or out the optical shield 5, are provided, arranged roughly orthogonal to the optical path 11, 11'. For example, a discharge takes place in the discharge tube 1, laser oscillation is induced between the resonance mirrors 2 and 3, which results in the optical path 11, 11'. The optical path 11, 11' is condensed by a lens 4 into a roughly 0.1mm-wide spot at the point of condensation. An optical shield 5 is installed at the point of condensation, movable in a direction orthogonal to the central axis of the optical path 11, 11' and thereby blocking the optical path 11, 11' when driven by a laminated actuator 6. The laser output is turned on and off when on-off signals are applied to the laminated actuating 6.
