PURPOSE:To form a high grade image with a simple circuit constitution, by a method wherein density data is inputted and the density value thereof is compared with a predetermined density value, and the selection of ink heads is changed over on the basis of the comparing result and a printing position. CONSTITUTION:Ink jet head 13, 14, 15 different in density, a carriage 26, a means for detecting the position of the carriage 26, a means inputting image data 2 and the positional information 2 of the carriage 26 to output the density data 7 of the image data 2 and a select signal 6, a comparing means for comparing the density data 7 with a predetermined value and an output means for outputting the density data 7 to either one of ink jet heads 13, 14, 15 on the basis of the comparing result and the select signal 6 are mounted. Therefore, the ink jet heads 13, 14, 15 different in density are selected corresponding to image density or a printing position without damaging the grade of the density data 7 by simple circuit constitution, and a high grade image can be formed. |
