PURPOSE:To aim at improvement in airtightness and the strengthening of holding power for oil film formation, by inserting a roller into an interspace between a seal groove side wall as a rotor apex and an apex seal, and forming a recess groove in an apex part of the apex seal. CONSTITUTION:A roller is inserted into an interspace between a seal groove side wall 4 at a rotor apex 2 and an apex seal 3, and the seal groove side wall 4 and the apex seal 3 are made into rolling contact. A recess groove 9 is formed in an apex face 8 of the apex seal 3 from end to end along the rotor axial direction. A receiving surface of high temperature and high pressure gas by explosive combustion acts on a very small area part of a round surface 10 of the rotor proceeding side. Thus, airtightness between operating chambers is hold, and holding power for formation of an oil film can be thus strengthened.
