摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent an internal combustion engine from overheating by providing a power lowering means for cutting off fuel or lowering the level of rotational speed of the engine when the atmospheric temperature of the engine exceeds a predetermined value and the rotational speed is in a predetermined condition. CONSTITUTION:An electronic control device 30 receives detection signals from sensors, and controls an ISCV (idle speed control valve) 6, a fuel injection valve 8, an ignitor 20 and the like. When the temperature of intake-air detected by an intake-air temperature sensor 4 exceeds a predetermined value and the rotational speed of the engine detected by a rotational speed sensor 22 exceeds a predetermined speed for a predetermined time, the electronic control device 30 cuts off fuel or lowers the rotational speed level for a fuel reducing condition. Thus, it is possible to prevent the internal combustion engine or the exhaust system thereof from being damaged due to overheating of the internal combustion engine.
