PURPOSE:To set an upper and a lower substrate at accurate and stable positions at an interval by setting UV setting resin right after applying it to >=2 corner parts of the step of the two substrates. CONSTITUTION:While an electrode on a 1st substrate 1 and an electrode on a 2nd substrate after being positioned are pressed to hold the gap between the 1st substrate 1 and the 2nd substrate 1 to specific size, the ultraviolet-ray setting resin 12 is applied by a dispenser 11 from slantingly above the corner part 17 of the step formed of the 1st and 2nd substrates 1 and 2 to at least two positions and irradiated with an ultraviolet ray immediately after the application to set the resin. Thus, the 1st and the 2nd substrates 1 and 2 are adhered and fixed primarily and then a seal material 6 is set to adhere and fix the 1st substrate 1 and the 2nd substrate 2 completely. Consequently, the color shifting of a liquid crystal display panel and a decrease in the contrast due to a position shift are precluded.
