PURPOSE:To inhibit the effect of the vibration of a front fork on detected front wheel speed by mounting a stator to a fixed portion so as to be angularly movable about the rotating shaft of a front wheel and mounting balancing springs for resiliently supporting the stator in circumferential direction between the stator and the fixed portion. CONSTITUTION:A pair of balancing springs 89 for resiliently supporting a stator 80 in circumferential direction are provided between the stator 80 and a retainer 84. When a rotor 75 is rotated by the rotation of the front wheel in the running of a two-wheeler, pulse voltage is generated in a coil 88 by being crossed by magnets 87 whereby the rotating speed of the front wheel is detected. For example, when a front fork 4 is backwardly bent when the two-wheeler passes over a projection on a road surface, the movement of the center of gravity of the stator 80 results in its relative rotation toward the front of the front wheel and the detected rotating speed represents a value smaller than that of the actual speed. The stator 80, however, is angularly moved backward by the springs 89 so that the center of gravity of the stator 80 is positioned on the extension of the axial line of the fork 4. Accordingly, the stator 80 is angularly moved backward relative to the rotor 75 whereby the detected speed is corrected. |
