PURPOSE:To display reproduction progress time for each program by recording each program reproduction progress information to a recording medium like a disk record, etc., which records the main information on video signals, etc. CONSTITUTION:The reproduction video signals demodulated by an FM demodulation circuit 1 are inputted to a decoding circuit 2 which decodes the biphase codes as well as to a sampling pulse generating circuit 3. These decoded outputs are stored in a frame number memory circuit 4 consisting of a shift register, a frame number recording circuit 5 and a total frame number memory circuit 6 in response to each sampling pulse. Each bit output is inputted to a subtraction circuit 7 for calculation of the number of remaining frames. A multiplexer 8 which uses the subtraction output and the frame number as selective inputs selects the input signals by the control output CN. The selected output converts the frame display into the second display via switch circuit 9 of the next stage to input it to a character generator 10. Thus, the progress time and the remaining time of a program are selectively displayed on a TV screen which display the reproduced pictures.
