A unit has a lancet (25) for making a prick, a blood take-up element (23) and a holder (14) for disinfectant. The unit has two or more main components which in the storage position are placed one on the other such that the lancet is enclosed. The unit pref. has three plastic blocks (14-16) joined by hinge strips (17,18) with the centre block mounting a test strip as the element and having an opening (21) , while the lancet is mounted on another block so that when the blocks hinge on each ohter it is pushed fully through the opening with its sharp end projecting in the use position. The lancet mounting block pref. has projections providing a resistance to the unit reaching its position of use. |
