Molecular weight, 46,500+ or -6,000 in reduced state and 39,000+ or -10,000 in non-reduced state; isoelectric point, 5.0-5.3pH; affinity, exhibits strong affinity to thrombin; activity, links with thrombin to activate protein C, prolongs the coagulation time of blood; stability, stable to (sodium dodecylsulfate and urea). USE:Remedy for thrombosis, etc. The substance participates in the anticoagulation system and fibrolytic system against the coagulation of blood. PREPARATION:For example, fresh human urine or concentrated urine is subjected to separation and purification treatments consisting of a proper combination of ion exchange chromatography, affinity chromatography using thrombin supported on a carrier, immunity column chromatography using a monoclonal antibody, gel filtration, molecular weight fractionation, etc.
