PURPOSE:To prevent an increase in transmission loss and the rupture of optical fiber strands by coating a curing accelerator on the outer periphery of an optical fiber strand juncture and the optical fiber strands on both sides thereof, then coating a high-polymer resin therein and curing the high-polymer resin from the side in contact with the curing accelerator, thereby forming a bubbleless high-polymer resin layer. CONSTITUTION:After the optical fiber strand juncture 4 is formed, the curing accelerator is coated on the surfaces of the juncture 4 and the optical fiber strands 3, 3' on both sides thereof and the high-polymer resin 10 is coated on the outer periphery thereof. Then, the high-polymer resin 10 cures from the surface side of the juncture 4 in contact with the curing accelerator and the strands 3, 3' on both sides thereof and the bubbleless high-polymer resin 10A is formed on the side in contact with the surfaces of the juncture 4 and the strands 3, 3'. The increase in the transmission loss occuring in air bubbles and the rupture of the optical fiber strands are thereby prevented. |
