PURPOSE:To decrease the dependency of medium noise of the film thickness of a medium and to obtain the medium having high output and high S/N by forming a magnetic film for magnetic recording of multi-layered films consisting of plural magnetic films and a film for decreasing the magnetical bonds between the magnetic films. CONSTITUTION:The medium consists of an underlying film 3 consisting of NiP, etc., a medium layer 1, and a protective lubricating film 2 consisting of C, etc., on a substrate 4 consisting of Al, etc. The medium layer consists of the multi-layered magnetic film layers 5 and the film 6 for decreasing the magnetical bonds. Metallic materials such as CoNi, CoCr and CoNiP and oxides such as Co-gammaFe2O3 are used as the magnetic films 5. Nonmagnetic films consisting of Al2O3, SiO2, Cr, etc. and soft magnetic films consisting of 'Permalloy(R)', etc., are used as the film 6 for decreasing the magnetic bonds. Since the magnetic bonds between the films 5 are decreased by the film 6, the noise is decreased.
