The individual reflectors of the retro-reflector unit can be imaged by an objective (6), such that the dia. of their images is larger than the dia. of a sensor element. A control unit is provided which detects the centres of the reflector images, and the distance between the two bodies is determined from the centre to centre distances. The individual reflectors of the retroreflector unit, reflect light of different wavelengths. The lighting system transmits lights of different wavelengths at time successive intervals, each of which is reflected from a retroreflector. The control unit determines the distance from the incident images of the retroreflectors separated in time. For the additional determination of the relative position of the two bodies, one of the bodies has at least three mutually spaced retroreflector, their spacing and/or reflection ability being variable. |
