The drive mechanism uses a shaft (3) which is securely attached to the end of the engine camshaft (1). A flow regulator (4) is freely mounted around this shaft, together with a chain-drive wheel (5) which is rotatable relative to the shaft. The free end of the flow regulator is secured to the chain wheel. A secondary portion (6) of the regulator is secured to the drive shaft. An inertia flywheel (8) is secured to the secondary portion of the flow regulator. ADVANTAGE - Reduces camshaft vibration caused by fuel pump.
