PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber suitable as reinforcing materials, etc., in a medical field, etc., by spinning an aqueous solution containing an alginate and a phosphate into a calcium-containing solution at a fixed pH, aging, washing, further drying and calcining. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution containing an alginate such as sodium alginate, potassium alginate, etc., and a phosphate such as sodium pyrophosphate, etc., is spun from a nozzle of spinning device having a given diameter into a calcium ion-containing aqueous solution at pH6-10. Then the prepared spun material is aged in the calcium ion-containing aqueous solution kept at 50-70 deg.C for about 20-40min. Further the spun material is washed, cut into a proper length and dried. Then the dried spun material is calcined to give the aimed yarn. |
